Student Worker - Marina Staff - BC

About the role#

This is a seasonal, on-site position for the Summer 2026 term at the Pullin Family Marina. Marina Student Workers operate the facility, maintain equipment, and support the Outdoor Adventure program. Please note that this is an outdoor role where staff are exposed to sun, wind, and varying weather conditions.

What you'll do#

• Open, close, and operate the facility daily.
• Assist customers with fitting PFDs, selecting paddles, and providing basic paddling and water safety instructions.
• Enforce all marina policies and procedures to ensure participant safety and proper equipment usage.
• Perform maintenance on boats, paddles, PFDs, and bicycles.
• Monitor patrons on the water and provide instruction as needed.
• Report all injuries, emergencies, incidents of misconduct, and potential safety hazards.
• Keep the facility and equipment clean, organized, and well-maintained.
• Attend scheduled staff trainings and meetings.

What you'll need#

• Must be a current Baylor student and a work study recipient.
• Ability to lift boats weighing up to 50 pounds and paddle with a boat in tow.
• Strong communication skills, assertiveness, and the ability to remain calm while handling conflict or emergency situations.
• Positive attitude and energy.
• Preferred but not required: Experience with canoeing, kayaking, sailing, bicycle maintenance, or customer service.

Location & details#

• Location: Pullin Family Marina, Waco, Texas.
• Schedule: 2:30 PM - 8:00 PM, 7 days a week.
• Compensation: $10.00/hr.
• This is a part-time, seasonal, on-site role.
