Student Worker - Lifeguard - BC

About the role#

As a Student Worker Lifeguard, you will be responsible for protecting patrons and maintaining a safe environment at the McLane Student Life Center. This role involves active supervision of aquatic areas, facility maintenance, and promoting health and recreation within the Baylor community.

What you'll do#

• Provide excellent customer service to all clients and visitors.
• Perform proper scanning of the pool and conduct water rescues when necessary.
• Enforce safety rules and ensure all facility procedures are followed.
• Maintain facility cleanliness, including scrubbing tiles, cleaning pool decks, raking sand volleyball courts, and performing locker room safety checks.
• Monitor chemical levels and perform general facility safety checks.
• Attend mandatory training sessions to build teamwork and sharpen professional skills.
• Stay in good physical health through exercise and bi-weekly training.
• Assist in various activities related to health and recreation as assigned.

What you'll need#

• Current certification from Red Cross, Boy Scouts, NASCO, or Star Guard.
• Ability to comply with all University policies.
• Commitment to regular and punctual attendance.
• Enrollment as a student, with a preference for Kinesiology majors.

Location & details#

• Location: McLane Student Life Center, Waco, Texas.
• Schedule: Shifts are available Monday through Friday (morning, afternoon, and evening) and Saturday through Sunday (afternoon and evening).
• Employment Term: Ongoing, rolling position.
