About the role#
This position supports the Director of Institutional Giving at Mission Waco by assisting with the full grant lifecycle. You will gain experience in nonprofit grant writing, grants management, compliance, and funder stewardship. This role requires Federal Work-Study eligibility and reliable transportation for off-campus work.
What you'll do#
- Assist with administrative tasks, including maintaining grant files, databases, and electronic records.
- Prepare grant outlines, supporting documentation, and proposal materials.
- Research prospective funding opportunities and track grant deadlines.
- Collect program information, statistics, and outcomes for grant reports and proposals.
- Coordinate internal information requests and communicate with program staff.
- Support the daily clerical and operational needs of children and youth programs and community events.
What you'll need#
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook), Adobe, and Canva.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to accurately enter and organize data.
- Excellent written communication skills and strong organizational abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple deadlines, maintain confidentiality, and demonstrate professional dependability.
- Research experience and familiarity with grant or proposal writing are preferred.
- Open to students majoring in Business Administration, Public Health, Political Science, Sociology, or Communications.
Location & details#
- Location: Waco, Texas.
- Term: Fall 2026.
- Schedule: 10 to 20 hours per week, Monday through Friday between 8:30 am and 5:00 pm.
- Modality: On-site.
- Compensation: $11.00 to $12.50 per hour.
