About the role#
The Fitness Center Attendant supports the Campus Recreation department by maintaining a safe, clean, and welcoming environment for students, faculty, and staff. This role focuses on promoting healthy lifestyle practices by assisting patrons with equipment usage and ensuring the facility operates smoothly.
What you'll do#
- Provide excellent customer service by greeting patrons and tracking attendance.
- Ensure the safe use of all exercise equipment and educate patrons on facility policies.
- Assist with spotting and perform cleaning and organization of gym equipment, which involves moderate to heavy lifting.
- Perform business operations duties and assist with various projects and tasks as assigned.
- Maintain regular and punctual attendance.
What you'll need#
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team.
- Proven time management skills and the ability to prioritize tasks.
- Ability to take initiative and comply with all University policies.
- Preferred majors include Kinesiology, Health Administration, or Public Health.
Location & details#
- Location: McLane Student Life Center, Waco, Texas.
- Term: Summer 2026.
- Schedule: Minimum of 10 hours per week, with shifts available between 5:45 AM and midnight, Sunday through Saturday.
- Compensation: $10.00 - $13.00 per hour.
