About the role#
The Fitness Center Attendant supports the Baylor University Campus Recreation department by maintaining a safe, clean, and welcoming environment for students, faculty, and staff. This position is for the Summer 2026 term and requires a commitment of at least 10 hours per week, with shifts available between 5:45 AM and midnight, Sunday through Saturday.
What you'll do#
- Provide quality customer service to all Fitness Center patrons.
- Track facility attendance and assist patrons with spotting as needed.
- Educate users on Fitness Center policies and ensure the safe use of exercise equipment.
- Maintain a clean and organized facility, which includes moderate to heavy lifting to move gym equipment.
- Perform business operations duties and assist with various departmental projects and tasks.
- Maintain regular and punctual attendance.
What you'll need#
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team.
- Proven time management skills and the ability to prioritize tasks.
- Ability to take initiative and work independently.
- Ability to comply with all University policies.
- Preferred majors include Kinesiology, Public Health, or Health Administration.
