Student Worker - Baylor Athletics Event Management and Facilities

About the role#

This student worker position supports day-to-day operations and event execution at Baylor Athletics facilities. You will gain hands-on experience in event management, guest services, and facility operations while maintaining a flexible schedule that accommodates your academic commitments.

What you'll do#

• Assist with event set-up and break-down for athletics events, concerts, commencements, and special events.
• Greet guests, provide directions, and manage crowds to ensure a positive experience.
• Support back-of-house operations, including locker room setup, team support, and equipment logistics.
• Operate equipment such as radios, scoreboards, and PA systems, with training provided.
• Monitor facility cleanliness and safety standards.
• Collaborate with staff and vendors to ensure smooth event execution.

What you'll need#

• Current enrollment as a student at Baylor University.
• Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays based on the event schedule.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to work in a team-oriented environment.
• Dependability, punctuality, and a professional demeanor.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods.
• Preferred: Prior experience in event operations, customer service, or athletic facilities, and an interest in sports management, hospitality, or event planning.

• Location: Ferrell Center, Waco, Texas.
• Work Modality: On-site.
• Schedule: Flexible, typically 10-20 hours per week.
• Compensation: $10.00 per hour.
