Student Worker - Allen/Dawson Office Assistant

About the role#

The Office Assistant provides administrative support to on-campus communities at Baylor University. This role serves as a resource for residents, visitors, and staff while playing a key role in the safety and security of residential communities. You will act as a representative of Campus Living & Learning, upholding service standards and assisting with the daily operations of the residence halls.

What you'll do#

• Monitor door security and alert appropriate staff regarding any issues.
• Provide administrative support to residents, including room access assistance and equipment check-outs.
• Maintain accurate log books for services such as maintenance requests, lost and found, and equipment tracking.
• Support residents by communicating concerns to hall staff.
• Enforce and uphold Campus Living & Learning policies and procedures.
• Complete additional administrative tasks as assigned by the Residence Hall Director.

What you'll need#

• Proficiency in typing and the ability to learn front desk software programs.
• Strong customer service skills with the ability to interact with a diverse population.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
• Capacity to complete administrative tasks with accuracy and sound judgment.
• Preferred majors include Business Administration, Communications, Psychology, or Sociology.

Location & details#

• Location: Allen and Dawson Residence Halls, Waco, Texas.
• Work Modality: On-site.
• Schedule: Minimum of 10 hours per week between 7:00 AM and 1:00 AM.
• Employment Term: Spring and ongoing.
