Meyer Center Front Desk/HMIS Assistant - BC

About the role#

This position supports the daily operations of the Meyer Center, a social services facility. The role involves direct interaction with individuals experiencing homelessness and requires a compassionate, organized approach to administrative tasks and data management.

What you'll do#

• Welcome and register clients in the Homeless Management Information System (HMIS) database, collecting information on housing, health, employment, and income.
• Manage, assign, and supervise client chores at the center.
• Assist the Director with HMIS analytics to generate monthly reports and support grant funding applications.
• Coordinate and schedule meetings for case workers, counselors, and program directors.
• Obtain and analyze utilization data from the Health Clinic to support center operations.

What you'll need#

• Proficiency in data collection, entry, and analysis.
• Strong clerical skills with a high level of attention to detail.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to interact effectively with people from diverse backgrounds.
• Prior experience working with individuals experiencing homelessness is preferred.
• A kind, encouraging, and hospitable demeanor.

Location & details#

• Location: Waco, Texas.
• Work Modality: On-site.
• Term: Fall 2026.
• Schedule: 10-20 hours per week, Monday through Saturday, between 6:00 am and 5:00 pm.
• Pay: $11.00 - $12.50 per hour, depending on student status and skill level.
• Eligible Majors: Sociology, Psychology, Public Health, Human Resources, and Business Administration.
