Maintenance Assistant - BC

About the role#

The Maintenance Assistant provides support to the Maintenance Director in the stewardship and care of facilities and vehicles. This role involves working with external community service partners and requires a commitment to maintaining property standards. This is an off-campus, student employee position that requires eligibility for Federal Work-Study.

What you'll do#

• Review assigned work orders and available resources to complete maintenance tasks.
• Coordinate with the supervisor to set priorities for daily operations.
• Purchase or order necessary materials and supplies.
• Document and report information regarding completed work orders.
• Collaborate and communicate effectively with staff, volunteers, and vendors.
• Perform manual labor outdoors in varying weather conditions.

What you'll need#

• Proficiency in technical and computer skills, including Word, Excel, Espace, phone systems, and email.
• Familiarity with facility management equipment such as paint and lawn mowers.
• Ability to lift 25-50 lbs and perform manual labor.
• Strong attention to detail and adherence to safety protocols.
• Reliable form of transportation and a valid driver's license.
• Ability to manage time and prioritize tasks effectively.
• A mature approach to work with an eagerness to learn.

Location & details#

• Location: Waco, Texas.
• Term: Fall 2026.
• Hours: 10-20 hours per week with a flexible schedule.
• Compensation: $11.00 - $12.50 per hour, depending on student status and skill level.
• Eligibility: Must be eligible for Federal Work-Study.
