About the role#
The Ministry Associate supports the Missions, Service & Public Life department at Baylor University. This role focuses on advancing spiritual life initiatives through student recruitment, mentoring, and event management. The position serves as an ambassador for the department and handles daily logistics for various programs throughout the Fall 2026 term.
What you'll do#
- Coordinate daily logistics, scheduling, and event management for departmental programs and initiatives.
- Communicate with Baylor and non-Baylor individuals regarding inquiries about events and programming.
- Support student leaders in the planning of organization meetings, events, and service activities.
- Assist with specific initiatives including Steppin’ Out Day of Service, BearAid Disaster Relief, Missions Week, and student leadership trainings.
- Serve as a Mission Trip or Service Trip leader if qualifications are met and the schedule permits.
What you'll need#
- Ability to lift 25 to 50 pounds regularly.
- Ability to move safely over uneven terrain or in confined spaces.
- Ability to see and respond to potentially hazardous situations during community service site inspections.
- Ability to occasionally ascend or descend ladders, steep ramps, or stairs to access event materials.
- Ability to work in extreme weather conditions, including heat and cold.
- Preferred background in cultural or religious diversity, curriculum design, or leadership and mentoring.
- Preferred ability to drive for department events, pending approval through university driver training.
Location & details#
- Location: Waco, Texas.
- Work Modality: On-site at The Bobo Spiritual Life Center.
- Schedule: Primarily Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with some evenings, weekends, and holidays required for events.
- Academic Focus: Human Resources, Sociology, Psychology, or Public Health majors are encouraged to apply.
