About the role#

The Fair Trade Market Assistant supports the daily operations of the market. This position involves direct customer interaction and maintaining the aesthetic and organizational standards of the shop. This is an off-campus, on-site role requiring reliable transportation.

What you'll do#

• Greet customers and provide friendly service.
• Process transactions by bagging items and writing up tickets.
• Maintain the sales floor through light dusting and arranging product displays.
• Assist with pricing incoming orders.
• Help clean and decorate the market space.
• Handle computer and phone tasks, as well as occasional errands.

What you'll need#

• Previous experience in customer service and point of sale systems.
• Proficiency with computers and strong communication skills.
• Ability to work well with staff and function as a team player.
• Eligibility for Federal Work-Study.

Location & details#

• Location: Waco, Texas.
• Term: Fall 2026.
• Schedule: 10-20 hours per week, Tuesday through Sunday, between 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m.
• Compensation: $11.00 - $12.50 per hour.
