Creative Arts Assistant - BC

About the role#

The Creative Arts Assistant provides instruction in art, music, and dance for afterschool programs serving children and youth, as well as potential adult program participants at Manna House and My Brother’s Keeper. This position involves working with community partners to promote creative arts and organize end-of-semester showcases.

What you'll do#

• Teach art, music, and dance classes to program participants.
• Recruit students to participate in creative arts programming.
• Collaborate with staff to coordinate performances, productions, and summer camps.
• Oversee and promote arts programs for youth and the local community.
• Maintain the cleanliness and safety of creative arts facilities.
• Supervise volunteers and interns assisting with classes.

What you'll need#

• Minimum of 1 year of training or performance experience in art, music, or dance.
• Prior teaching experience.
• Experience working with children and youth.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and work ethic skills.
• Ability to communicate compassionately and represent organizational values under pressure.
• Eligibility for Federal Work-Study.

Location & details#

• Location: Waco, Texas.
• Term: Fall 2026.
• Work Modality: On-site.
• Schedule: 15-20 hours per week, typically Monday through Thursday, between 3:00 pm and 6:00 pm.
• Compensation: $11.00 - $12.50 per hour.
• Note: As this is off-campus employment, reliable transportation is required.
