About the role#
The Community Engagement & Events Coordinator supports the planning, coordination, and execution of fundraising events, educational seminars, and community workshops. This role involves managing event logistics and conducting outreach to community partners, schools, and nonprofits to schedule programming. The coordinator helps expand community access to education and strengthens outreach and fundraising efforts.
What you'll do#
- Assist in planning, organizing, and executing fundraising events, educational seminars, and community workshops.
- Coordinate event logistics, including scheduling, venue preparation, supplies, and day-of support.
- Conduct outreach to community partners, schools, and organizations to schedule workshops and seminars.
- Prepare and organize materials for workshops, presentations, and educational sessions, including presentation decks and handouts.
- Provide on-site event support, such as setup, registration, check-in, and troubleshooting.
- Maintain calendars and tracking systems for events, trainings, and partner engagements.
- Assist with follow-up communication with partners and participants.

- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.
- Experience working in and among diverse communities and settings.
- Interest in nonprofit work, community engagement, education, or event planning.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team setting.
- Comfortable with professional outreach via email and phone.
- Preferred majors: Marketing, Business Administration, Communications, Sociology, or Psychology.
- Must be federal work-study eligible.
Location & details#
- Location: Waco, Texas.
- Term: Fall 2026.
- Modality: On-site.
- Schedule: 10-15 hours per week between 9:00 AM and 5:00 PM.
- Compensation: Paid position ($12-15/hr).
