Children's Program Assistant - BC

About the role#

This position supports the Children's Program by assisting with the planning and implementation of daily activities. You will work directly with program participants, helping to supervise children and volunteers while building positive relationships. This role requires Federal Work-Study eligibility and reliable transportation, as it is an off-campus position.

What you'll do#

• Plan, prepare, and implement daily activities, including gathering equipment and setting up rooms.
• Supervise children during daily activities and enforce program rules and discipline.
• Assist with administrative duties and general cleaning tasks as needed.
• Support volunteers throughout the program.
• If 21 years or older with a valid driver’s license and good driving record, you may receive training to assist with transporting youth from school to the program site.

What you'll need#

• Current enrollment as a student at Baylor University.
• Eligibility for Federal Work-Study.
• General office skills and strong written and oral communication abilities.
• A mature, professional communication style.
• Flexibility, the ability to prioritize tasks, and problem-solving competence.
• Preferred majors include Psychology, Sociology, Communications, or Public Health.

Location & details#

• Location: Waco, Texas (Off-campus at Mission Waco Mission World).
• Term: Fall 2026.
• Schedule: 10-15 hours per week. The program runs Monday through Thursday, 3:00 pm – 5:30 pm; attendance is required for two of these four days.
• Compensation: $11.00 – $12.50 per hour, depending on student status and skill level.
