Campus Recreation Member Services Manager

About the role#

The Campus Recreation Member Services Manager supports the Department of Campus Recreation by overseeing daily facility operations and ensuring a positive experience for all patrons. This role focuses on the management of service desks at the McLane Student Life Center, Russell Gym, and the Pullin Family Marina. This is a paid, on-site position for graduate students.

What you'll do#

• Interview, hire, train, and schedule student personnel for Campus Recreation Service Desks.
• Supervise student staff during facility operating hours, including opening, closing, and evening shifts.
• Enforce Building Usage Policies and facilitate the resolution of patron or employee concerns.
• Maintain personnel files and conduct ongoing evaluations and training for Rec Service Associates.
• Monitor facility safety, report injuries or emergencies, and document incidents involving misconduct or property damage.
• Manage inventory for sales and operational items and assist with special event preparation.

What you'll need#

• Current enrollment as a graduate student at Baylor University.
• Previous experience in personnel management and staff training.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Familiarity with customer service principles and facility operations.
• Ability to mentor undergraduate staff and promote professional development.

• Location: McLane Student Life Center, Waco, Texas.
• Schedule: Hours vary, including afternoons, evenings, and occasional early mornings.
• Employment Type: Part-time, ongoing.
