As a Deployment Engineering Intern, you will serve as part of the team acting as mission control for field operations. You will work alongside experienced engineers and electricians to ensure battery installations and service calls are safe, efficient, and successful. This role involves direct, hands-on support for field crews and requires a full-stack understanding of hardware, software, and field operations.
What you'll do#
- Collaborate with Deployment Engineers to support field crews during live installations and service calls.
- Participate in real-time troubleshooting alongside experienced engineers via phone, text, and Slack.
- Monitor fleet health using tools like Grafana and Retool to flag issues and identify trends.
- Create and maintain troubleshooting aids, hardware defect logs, and deployment playbooks.
- Analyze data from field interactions to identify recurring issues and improvement opportunities.
- Contribute to cross-team discussions with hardware, software, and Member Experience teams to share field insights.
What you'll need#
- Current junior or senior in an undergraduate program, or a graduate student, in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field.
- Strong foundation in electrical concepts and fundamentals.
- Passion for hands-on problem solving and working with real-world systems.
- Ability to remain calm and focused in a fast-paced environment.
- Familiarity with monitoring or ticketing tools such as Grafana, Retool, Jira, or Odoo is a plus.
- Exposure to electrical code, hardware troubleshooting, or field operations is a plus.
