About the role#
Barnhart Crane & Rigging is hiring an Intern Engineer to support our team in Memphis. You will work on heavy-lift and heavy-transport projects while gaining exposure to the rigging and transportation industry. This role involves both office work and local field support.
What you'll do#
- Assist the engineering team with heavy-lift and heavy-transport solutions.
- Create equipment layout drawings.
- Perform AutoCAD and Inventor modeling.
- Conduct basic steel design and calculations.
- Develop engineering process improvements, such as Excel templates and reference charts.
- Communicate regularly with managers and team members.
What you'll need#
- A High School Diploma.
- Current enrollment in a Bachelor of Science program for Mechanical, Civil, or Computer Engineering at an ABET accredited institution.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access.
- The ability to work long hours when necessary, including some weekends.
- Mechanical aptitude and experience in the construction industry are preferred.

- This is an on-site, full-time, paid internship based in Memphis, Tennessee.
- The position is offered on a rolling basis.
