About the role#
Barnes Aerospace is hiring a Purchasing Intern to work on-site at our Warren, Michigan facility. This is a paid, full-time position with a rolling term. You will work directly with our Global Purchasing and IT teams on various assignments to support our supply chain operations.
What you'll do#
- Perform data analysis on PO metrics, spend, RFQs, and market indices.
- Support the implementation of our Approved Supplier List and supplier portal.
- Assist with supplier contract review, analysis, and negotiation.
- Maintain supply chain data to ensure accuracy and integrity.
- Support the creation of customer evaluations and scorecards.
- Maintain standard work documentation, training materials, and skills matrices.
- Complete assigned projects and present your findings to leadership.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in an accredited college or university as a rising junior or senior.
- Pursuing a degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to organize your time and tasks effectively in a schedule-driven environment.
- Analytical and technical skills to understand business practices and identify automation opportunities.
- Proficiency in Excel, specifically V-lookups, pivot tables, What-If analysis, and Power Query.
- Familiarity with Power BI and a willingness to learn Articulate 360 for training creation.
- An interest in lean enterprise principles and practices.
