About the role#
This is a part-time position for a Radiology Student Tech at Baptist Health System. You will work approximately 20 hours per week, with a schedule that includes evenings, weekends, and rotating holidays. You will perform duties under the guidance of a Registered Radiologic Technologist.
What you'll do#
- Apply static x-rays to assist with diagnosis and treatment.
- Perform radiographic procedures and computer processing techniques.
- Verify patient identity, medical history, and exam orders.
- Coordinate exams with nursing units and transport teams.
- Monitor patients throughout their procedures.
- Document patient care and incidents in the electronic health record.
- Use ALARA principles for all exams to ensure safety.
- Produce and prepare quality images for Radiologist review.
- Verify that images are archived in PACS and sent to tele-radiology services as needed.
- Manage documentation and study completion within the EPIC and EI systems.
- Report equipment malfunctions and solve process problems as they arise.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment as a 2nd year student in an AMA-approved Radiologic Technologist training program.
- Active KBMIRT license.
- Ability to obtain American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 90 days of hire.
