About the role#
IT Business Analysts act as a partner between business and technology teams. You will translate business needs into clear outcomes for delivery teams. Interns assist in delivering solutions by working on small project requests or as part of a larger project team. You will learn and apply agile principles and project delivery methodologies while gaining professional experience.
What you'll do#
- Elicit requirements through interviews, workflow analysis, workshops, and surveys.
- Assist with planning and executing discovery activities for complex initiatives.
- Identify stakeholders and clarify project objectives.
- Analyze existing processes to create user guides, process specifications, process models, and documentation.
- Participate in collaboration sessions with developers, architects, and product owners.
- Execute data analysis approaches and interpret data visualizations.
- Partner with the Quality Assurance team to define and execute testing strategies.
- Shadow and mentor with experienced team members and leaders.
What you'll need#
- Pursuing an associate or bachelor degree in information technology management, information systems, computer science, operations management, supply chain, business, or communications with a technology concentration.
- Anticipated graduation date of May 2028 or later.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to explain technical information to non-technical personnel.
- Natural curiosity about how technology solves business problems.
- Critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Organizational excellence and attention to detail.
- High level of motivation and proactivity.
- Experience with MS Visio, SQL, or Power BI is a plus.
Location & details#
- Locations: Milwaukee, WI or Madison, WI.
- Modality: Hybrid (three days per week in the office, two days remote).
- Schedule: Full-time during the summer (37.5 to 40 hours per week) and part-time during school semesters (15 to 20 hours per week).
- Term: Starts June 2027 through Spring 2028.
- This is a paid internship.
