About the role#
The Conference Services team plans and executes meetings, events, and conferences for internal and external clients. This internship provides exposure to event logistics while maintaining brand standards. This is a hybrid role based in our downtown Milwaukee office. You will work three days per week in the office and two days remotely. The position requires a part-time commitment of 15 to 20 hours per week during school semesters and a full-time commitment of 37.5 to 40 hours per week during the summer. We are looking for a student who can begin in May 2027.
What you'll do#
- Assist with planning and registration for in-person, virtual, and hybrid events.
- Draft and edit communications and build registration sites.
- Source venues and manage event supplies, including preparing nametags and printed materials.
- Handle administrative tasks such as credit card statements, check deposits, and expenses.
- Attend events to assist with setup, onsite logistics, and staffing.
- Gain insight into the various business units supported by the team.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a degree in hospitality, communications, marketing, public relations, journalism, business, or a related field.
- Anticipated graduation date of May 2028 or later.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- A professional, calm, and courteous demeanor when interacting with others.
- Organizational skills to manage multiple priorities and attention to detail.
- Motivation, proactivity, and a commitment to learning.
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office products.
- Experience with graphic design, marketing, and content creation is a plus.
- Prior office experience and event planning experience are preferred.
