About the role#
Compliance interns at Baird work with experienced professionals to learn the laws, regulations, and ethical standards that guide the financial services industry. You will gain practical insight into how policies are applied through hands-on tasks and projects across specialized teams.
What you'll do#
- Perform basic analysis on department, firm, and industry data.
- Assist with compliance reviews of various business units.
- Conduct preliminary investigations on potential watch list matches using databases and public records.
- Gather information regarding suspicious client activity to escalate for further analysis.
- Help coordinate the institutional branch review process.
- Create and maintain Excel spreadsheets and PowerPoint training materials.
- Handle administrative functions, including answering phones and responding to client questions.
- Complete special projects and other duties as assigned.
What you'll need#
- Pursuing a bachelor’s degree in business, finance, economics, criminology, or a related field.
- A proven record of academic excellence.
- An anticipated graduation date of May 2028 or later.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Effective oral and written communication abilities.
- Experience with Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
- Some knowledge of financial markets is preferred.
Location & details#
- This is a hybrid role based in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
- The schedule requires 3 days per week in the office and 2 days remote.
- You must be available to work full-time (37.5 to 40 hours per week) during the summer.
- During school semesters, the role requires part-time work (15 to 20 hours per week).
- This position is paid.
