About the role#
Counselor Residents and Social Work Fellows provide telehealth therapy to children, adolescents, and families. This program helps you gain the supervised clinical hours required for independent licensure. You will receive clinical supervision, participate in professional development, and work with an interdisciplinary team. The position title aligns with your specific licensure track.
What you'll do#
- Deliver individual, family, and group therapy through telehealth.
- Complete intake assessments, risk assessments, treatment plans, and safety plans.
- Write accurate clinical documentation within 24 hours of each session.
- Attend all scheduled individual and group supervision sessions.
- Participate in structured training, case consultations, and licensure exam preparation.
- Partner with clinical leadership and administrative teams to support client outcomes.
- Follow HIPAA requirements and state licensing regulations.
- Track clinical and supervision hours consistently.
What you'll need#
- Master's degree in Social Work, Counseling, or a related mental health field (completed or in your final term).
- Active provisional, associate-level, or equivalent license.
- Current residence and licensure in a state where Backpack Healthcare operates.
- Strong interest in working with children, adolescents, and families.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Willingness to receive feedback and engage in supervision.
- Strong clinical judgment, professionalism, and cultural humility.
- Commitment to ethical, identity-affirming care.
- Dedication to completing all supervised clinical hours and licensure milestones.
