About the role#
As a Maintenance Intern, you will support the team with daily activities that keep the plant, production areas, and equipment clean, safe, and efficient. This role provides hands-on exposure to manufacturing maintenance, equipment care, and production support. You will work alongside experienced professionals to learn about facility operations and preventive maintenance.
What you'll do#
- Assist the Maintenance team with routine, non-technical maintenance and facility support.
- Perform minor repairs and maintenance tasks as directed.
- Help with basic preventive maintenance activities under the guidance of the Maintenance Leader.
- Clean and maintain production equipment and work areas.
- Respond to production line maintenance requests.
- Identify and report equipment concerns or unusual conditions.
- Maintain an organized, clean, and safe work environment.
- Use basic hand tools safely and appropriately.
- Support Maintenance Technicians with assigned projects.
- Follow all safety, quality, and operating procedures.
What you'll need#
- Interest in manufacturing, maintenance, skilled trades, or industrial operations.
- Demonstrated mechanical aptitude and a willingness to learn.
- Basic familiarity with hand tools.
- Self-motivated, dependable, and willing to take initiative.
- Ability to follow instructions, ask questions, and complete tasks.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to safety.
- Ability to work effectively alone or as part of a team.
- Willingness to work different shifts, weekends, or overtime as needed.
- High school diploma or GED is preferred.
- Current enrollment in a technical, trade, or manufacturing program is a plus.
- Previous experience in manufacturing, production, or facilities is preferred.
