About the role#
The Ambulatory Surgery Center (ASC) Intern provides administrative and non-clinical support to our surgery center. You will gain hands-on exposure to healthcare operations and the patient experience while working under the direction of our staff. This is a paid, full-time, on-site internship role. Please note that this position does not involve providing direct patient care or performing duties that require a professional license.
What you'll do#
- Provide general administrative support such as filing, scanning, organizing documents, and data entry.
- Greet and assist patients, visitors, and physicians.
- Help front-office staff with routine registration-related administrative tasks.
- Support nursing staff with non-clinical duties, including bed and room turnovers, changing linens, and restocking supplies.
- Maintain clean, orderly, and appropriately stocked patient care and common areas.
What you'll need#
- You are a current student interested in healthcare, healthcare administration, nursing, business, or a related field.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and manage sensitive information.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to follow instructions, work collaboratively, and maintain professionalism.
- Basic computer and organizational skills.
