Propulsion Manufacturing Intern (Fall 2026)

About the role#

Astranis is seeking a Propulsion Manufacturing Intern for the Fall 2026 term. This is a full-time, hourly, on-site internship based in San Francisco, California. Interns will engage in hands-on work, contributing directly to meaningful projects alongside the engineering team.

What you'll do#

• Design and build the factory infrastructure used to manufacture satellites.
• Deliver a complete, space-ready physical propulsion subsystem, from tank to thruster.
• Bonus: Build or test liquid propulsion systems.
• Bonus: Write work instructions, test procedures, or utilize MES/ERP software.
• Bonus: Perform welding, machining, or design welded and machined components.

What you'll need#

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, Industrial, or Manufacturing Engineering.
• Proficiency in CAD software such as Solidworks, Creo, or NX.
• A strong interest in manufacturing, understanding production processes, and applying that knowledge.
• A proactive approach to troubleshooting and improving equipment, processes, or team communication.
• A passion for hands-on design, development, and building physical hardware.
