Legal/HR Intern

About the role#

The Legal/HR Intern will work alongside the Aspen Legal and HR teams, gaining exposure to employment law, workplace policies, corporate compliance, and day-to-day HR operations. This full-time, paid summer internship provides hands-on experience with regulatory research, documentation, and cross-functional projects.

What you'll do#

• Assist with employment-related, compliance, administrative, and research-focused tasks.
• Support legal and regulatory research, review and organize documentation, and contribute to employee-related programs.
• Summarize sales contracts and assist in creating a sales contracting playbook and scorecard.
• Support updates to non-compete and non-solicitation language.
• Assist with the Employer of Record (EOR) transition project, including reviewing employment contracts and facilitating employee transitions.
• Support the Employee Engagement Survey, including data analysis and results interpretation.
• Prepare communications decks and presentations for senior leadership.
• Update consulting agreements and FCPA examples for sales teams.
• Research and define key terms related to international warranty obligations.

What you'll need#

• Rising 2nd year law student (2L) or above, pursuing a Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree, in good academic standing with a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
• Demonstrated leadership skills through campus organizations, student government, athletics, or work projects.
• Strong presentation and communication skills, with comfort presenting to senior leaders.
• Ability to work independently with initial direction and guidance.
