BET Engineering Intern

About the role#

The BET Engineering Intern will support the Battery Electric Thermal engineering team in Marlborough, Massachusetts. This role focuses on hands-on engineering work related to PyroThin thermal barrier applications, as well as internal product and technology development. You will gain exposure to real-world engineering challenges in electrified vehicle applications, including testing, data analysis, and cross-functional collaboration.

What you'll do#

• Assist with testing activities, including test design, setup, execution, and teardown.
• Collect, organize, and analyze experimental data from material surveillance, product development, and customer-driven testing.
• Support data-driven decision making through clear documentation and basic reporting.
• Perform hands-on manual work such as fabricating test samples, assembling and disassembling parts, and evaluating design improvements.
• Own a defined engineering project spanning the full duration of the internship, culminating in a final technical presentation.
• Function as a shared resource across Program Engineering and Product Development Engineering, providing support for New Product Introduction (NPI) efforts.

What you'll need#

• Completion of a minimum of two years of college-level engineering coursework.
• Currently pursuing a degree in Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or a related field.
• Strong interest in electrification, advanced materials, and applied engineering problem-solving.
• Comfortable working in a hands-on laboratory or manufacturing-adjacent environment.
• Basic CAD experience is a plus, ideally with SolidWorks.
• Ability to learn quickly and work effectively in a team environment.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.
