About the role#
The ASPCA is looking for a Veterinary Technology Student Ambassador at LaGuardia Community College. You will represent the organization on campus, connect with peers, and share information about our mission and resources. This role is a chance to build professional connections and develop leadership skills while you complete your studies.
What you'll do#
- Serve as a primary representative of the ASPCA at your school.
- Build relationships with fellow students and campus groups.
- Help plan and run events like workshops, career fairs, and presentations.
- Share information about externships and career pathways with other students.
- Act as a liaison between student groups and our team.
- Create written updates about upcoming events and opportunities.
- Keep up with your academic responsibilities and follow all school policies.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment as a veterinary technology student at LaGuardia Community College.
- Good academic standing.
- Active membership in at least one student group related to animal welfare or the core work of the ASPCA.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work independently.
- A commitment to the mission and values of the ASPCA.
- Access to a computer for virtual meetings and email.
- Ability to store promotional materials for campus distribution.
- You must not currently serve as an ambassador for another animal welfare or veterinary organization.
Location & details#
- This position is remote and based at LaGuardia Community College.
- You will dedicate an average of 3 hours per week during the semester.
- The role lasts for two semesters with the potential to extend.
- Compensation is $20 per hour, with the potential to earn up to $1,000 per semester.
