About the role#
The ASPCA is looking for a student representative at the Ohio State University College of Veterinary Medicine. You will act as a liaison between the university and the organization, helping your peers learn about animal welfare, externships, and career pathways. This role is designed for a student who can work independently and wants to build connections within the veterinary community.
What you'll do#
- Represent the ASPCA on campus and build relationships with fellow students and student groups.
- Help plan and run campus events like workshops, presentations, and career fairs.
- Share information about ASPCA resources, externship opportunities, and upcoming events.
- Create written communications to keep students informed.
- Maintain regular contact with the ASPCA Campus Relations Senior Manager.
- Balance these duties with your academic responsibilities while following all school policies.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment as a veterinary student at The Ohio State University College of Veterinary Medicine.
- Good academic standing.
- Active membership in at least one student group related to animal welfare, shelter medicine, or similar fields.
- Ability to dedicate an average of 3 hours per week to this role.
- Access to a computer for virtual meetings and email.
- Ability to store promotional materials for campus distribution.
- Strong communication skills and a professional approach.
- You must not currently serve as an ambassador for another animal welfare organization or non-profit.
