About the role#
Arkansas Electric Cooperative Corporation is hiring a Civil Engineering Intern to join our Engineering department in Little Rock. You will assist our team with projects focused on substation facilities, transmission lines, and hydroelectric generation. This is a paid, full-time internship with a rolling term.
What you'll do#
- Create, design, analyze, and model data using engineering software.
- Support engineers with the procurement and contracting of equipment, materials, and construction labor.
- Accompany staff on field visits throughout Arkansas to collect data.
- Organize department drawings and documents to meet records management standards.
- Assist with database development and process mapping.
- Help engineers, analysts, and technicians complete daily objectives.
- Monitor and follow applicable laws, regulations, and internal policies.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Civil Engineering degree program at an EAC of ABET accredited school.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Office Suite.
- A valid state driver’s license.
- Ability to work independently and maintain high attention to detail.
- Experience with CAD or ESRI GIS software is helpful.
