About the role#
ArchCity Defenders is a holistic legal advocacy organization that combats the criminalization of poverty and state violence. Our communications team educates the public about our mission, advocates for policy change, and provides a platform for our clients to share their stories. Interns work as part of an interdisciplinary team to support our legal staff and expand our reach. We are looking for people who are assertive, independent, and committed to racial and economic justice.
What you'll do#
- Create written content for print publications, events, marketing materials, and our blog.
- Produce videos for our website and social media channels.
- Conduct research on social, legal, racial, and economic issues.
- Track earned news media clips across radio, online, print, and television.
- Brainstorm design concepts and assist with the design of graphics for social media and print materials.
- Attend communications update meetings and support the broader team as needed.

Location & details#
- This is a part-time, paid internship for the Fall 2026 term.
- The role is based in St. Louis, Missouri. Interns are expected to work on-site, though this plan is subject to change to remote work based on public health requirements or organizational needs.
- The internship lasts for 8-12 weeks. We cannot accept students who are simultaneously engaged in another internship.
