About the role#
This 8-week summer internship program provides hands-on experience in the specialty insurance industry. You will work alongside the Underwriting team to gain professional skills and explore career paths within the field. This is a full-time, paid internship.
What you'll do#
- Gain exposure to Casualty and Specialty underwriting, including claims, actuarial, finance, and contracts.
- Receive training from the Underwriting team on deal sourcing, analysis, decision-making, and negotiations.
- Work on live deals and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
- Learn underwriting systems, processes, and account setup for lines like General Liability, Auto Liability, and Workers Compensation.
- Participate in broker networking and team-building activities.
- Collaborate with other interns on group activities and an end-of-program capstone project.
- Research and provide information to support the team.
What you'll need#
- Current sophomore status with an expected graduation date between December 2028 and May 2029.
- Pursuit of a degree in Economics, Business Administration, Finance, Mathematics, or Communications.
- Minimum 3.0 GPA.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel is strongly preferred.
Location & details#
- Location: Morristown, New Jersey.
- Term: Summer 2027 (June 2 to July 23, 2027).
- Work Modality: Hybrid (4 days onsite and 1 day from home).
- Compensation: $26 per hour.
- Note: Relocation and housing assistance are not provided.
