About the role#
This student worker position supports food service and catering operations on campus. You will assist with food preparation, maintain service areas, and interact directly with customers to ensure a positive dining experience. This role is open to students, particularly those studying Nutrition, who want to gain practical experience in a hospitality environment.
What you'll do#
- Prepare and build food items following standardized recipes and directions.
- Set up workstations, including prep tables, service counters, hot wells, and steam tables.
- Replenish food items and keep products stocked at appropriate levels.
- Serve food to customers and assist with their needs.
- Break down, clean, and sanitize workstations after service.
- Store food properly according to safety standards.
- Maintain a positive demeanor and provide helpful service to guests and co-workers.
- Follow company safety policies and ensure the security of assets.
What you'll need#
- Ability to demonstrate guest service skills.
- Must hold or be willing to acquire a food safety certification.
- Previous food service experience is preferred but not required.
- Ability to meet physical demands such as lifting, bending, pushing, pulling, and extended periods of standing or walking.
- Willingness to wear a uniform or use personal protective equipment as required.
