About the role#
We are hiring a Warhead Engineer Co-op for the Winter 2027 term. This is a full-time, paid, on-site position based in Costa Mesa, California. You will work on designing and testing complex ordnance systems, moving projects from initial prototypes into production.
What you'll do#
- Design warheads and complex munitions systems.
- Build high fidelity prototype parts for range testing.
- Manage end-to-end arena and system testing, including project planning and design of experiments.
- Analyze results by capturing test video and compiling data from ground and flight tests.
- Assemble and disassemble explosive test articles and precision targets.
- Maintain safety standards throughout all testing phases.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a bachelor’s or master’s program for Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering.
- You must be returning to school for at least one term following the internship.
- Ability to commit to an in-person 16 to 24-week internship.
- U.S. Person status is required to access controlled facilities and information.
- Potential requirement for U.S. clearance eligibility depending on the program.
- Proficiency in CAD tools like SolidWorks or NX.
- Experience with data acquisition, analysis, and project coordination.
- Background in preparing engineering documentation such as technical reports, drawings, and test procedures.
- Practical experience with munitions testing or explosive operations.
