About the role#
This is a 12-week, paid internship for Summer 2027 based in Ashville, Ohio. You will support teams designing and building aerospace structures using carbon fiber composite material systems. You will work alongside engineers who analyze these structures and technicians who manufacture them.
What you'll do#
- Receive problem statements, guidelines, requirements, and reporting milestones.
- Independently perform trade studies and designs, then generate solutions for approval.
- Procure hardware as needed to carry out your solutions.
- Test, verify, and demonstrate the effectiveness of your work.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a bachelor’s or master’s degree program in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field.
- Intent to return to school after the internship to continue your studies.
- Status as a U.S. Person to access export-controlled information and facilities.
- Ability to work on-site for the full 12-week duration in Summer 2027.
- Experience leading projects, collecting and analyzing data, and driving improvements.
- Hands-on experience with R/C or autonomous flight vehicles, flight controllers, or similar control systems.
- Proficiency in software scripting in any language.
- Potential eligibility for a U.S. security clearance, depending on the program.
