About the role#
The Merchandising Planning Intern will gain hands-on experience in retail merchandise planning and allocation. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, including buying, marketing, and store operations, to ensure merchandise strategies align with guest demand. This role provides a well-rounded experience in the retail industry, equipping you with the skills and knowledge necessary for a successful career in the field.
What you'll do#
- Analyze historical sales data, inventory levels, and customer trends using large datasets.
- Monitor stock levels, reorder points, and replenishment strategies to assist in inventory management.
- Use forecasting models and software to predict product demand.
- Allocate products to specific stores or the distribution center based on demand and inventory levels.
- Support pricing strategies and manage markdowns to optimize sales and inventory turnover.
What you'll need#
- Current status as an upcoming junior, senior, or recent graduate pursuing a degree in Business, Merchandising, Supply Chain Management, Economics, or a related field.
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to interpret large datasets.
- Proficiency in Google Workspace, Microsoft Excel, or other data analysis tools is a plus.
- A detail-oriented mindset with a passion for retail and merchandising.
- Self-motivation and an eagerness to learn.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
