As an Applied AI Research Intern, you will work on the technical challenges of deploying safe and compliant AI agents. You will design and execute research projects focused on training, evaluating, and improving Large Language Model (LLM) guardrails. You will be paired with a mentor to provide guidance and support throughout your project, and you will contribute directly to the development of our alignment platform.
What you'll do#
- Design, execute, and deliver solutions to key challenges in deploying LLM applications.
- Develop a robust, automated approach to quantitatively measure synthetically-generated data quality.
- Incorporate explanations for LLM guardrails to provide post-hoc rationales for content blocking.
- Participate in weekly meetings to share progress and present results.
- Collaborate with team members to create a project that aligns with your professional interests.
What you'll need#
- Currently enrolled as an MS student in Computer Science, AI, Linguistics, or a related field.
- Proven experience in LLMs, ML, or NLP, including demonstrated knowledge and practical experience in LLM training.
- At least one publication in reputable AI, ethics, or machine learning conferences and journals.
- Strong programming skills in Python.
- Experience with ML frameworks such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, or JAX.
