About the role#
As an Applied AI Research Intern, you will work on the technical challenges involved in deploying LLM applications safely and responsibly. You will design and execute research projects that support the training, evaluation, or use of LLM-based guardrails. You will work alongside a mentor and participate in weekly meetings to share progress and present your results. We aim to align your project with your personal interests while contributing directly to our product.
What you'll do#
- Design, execute, and deliver solutions to challenges in deploying LLM applications.
- Develop an automated approach to measure the quality of synthetically generated data.
- Build explanations for LLM guardrails to provide rationales for content blocking.
- Collaborate with team members to create projects that contribute to our platform.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an MS program for Computer Science, AI, Linguistics, or a related field.
- Proven experience working with LLMs, ML, or NLP.
- Practical experience in LLM training.
- At least one publication in a reputable AI, ethics, or machine learning conference or journal.
- Strong programming skills in Python.
- Experience with ML frameworks such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, or JAX.
- Preference is given to PhD students, those with first-author publications, or experience in open-source AI projects, synthetic data, or explainable AI.
