Long-term Internship - Quality Engineering

About the role#

Airbus Helicopters is seeking a long-term intern to join the Quality Engineering department in Columbus, Mississippi. This role focuses on supporting production and repair station operations through data analysis and process improvement. You will work within a team dedicated to maintaining high standards of quality, productivity, and efficiency for aircraft assembly and maintenance.

What you'll do#

• Assist the Quality team with problem-solving, lean manufacturing, and continuous improvement projects.
• Participate in root cause analysis and identify opportunities to improve operational workflows.
• Update visual management schemes, metrics, and support various analysis tools.
• Document 5S scores, conduct housekeeping audits, and support Foreign Object Debris (FOD) compliance.
• Perform additional duties as assigned to support the department.

What you'll need#

• Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's degree program for Aerospace, Industrial, Mechanical, Electrical Engineering, or Business Administration.
• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and G Suite.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Preferred: Proficiency in AutoCAD and VBA.
• Ability to work in the United States without current or future need for visa sponsorship.

• Modality: On-site (100%).
• Schedule: Full-time, rolling internship.
• Compensation: Paid position.
• Requirements: Must be currently local to the Starkville/Columbus area. Steel-toed shoes are required for shop floor visits, and you must be able to perform physical tasks such as walking on uneven surfaces and carrying up to 10 lbs.
