Long-term Internship - Ethics & Compliance

About the role#

Airbus is seeking a long-term, multi-semester intern to join the Ethics & Compliance Department in Herndon, Virginia. This role supports a team in adapting and driving compliance processes, tools, and communications across North American operations. Interns gain corporate experience while contributing to the effectiveness of the Airbus Compliance Program.

What you'll do#

• Assist Legal and Compliance professionals in identifying, preventing, and remediating risk.
• Analyze risk and monitor compliance program aspects, including third-party engagements, gift and sponsorship requests, and potential conflicts of interest.
• Learn and operate internal electronic tools and process flow management systems to provide end-user guidance.
• Monitor the status of outstanding approvals, identify bottlenecks, and communicate conclusions to stakeholders.
• Track progress and generate status reports on Ethics & Compliance matters.
• Conduct due diligence on third parties, including customers and suppliers.
• Prepare drafts of process documentation and engagement proposals.

What you'll need#

• Current enrollment in a degree program at a US-accredited university; majors in Business Administration, Political Science, or Criminal Justice are preferred.
• Strong interest in Ethics, Compliance, or Export Control.
• High ethical standards and professional integrity.
• Dependability with strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and G-Suite.
• Ability to express ideas clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing.
• Ability to work in the US without the need for current or future visa sponsorship.

Location & details#

• Location: Herndon, Virginia.
• Work Modality: On-site (80% on-site requirement).
• Schedule: Full-time, rolling term.
• Compensation: Paid position with an hourly range of $23.25 - $34.25, depending on degree type and year in school.
