About the role#
AgWest Farm Credit is hiring a Loan Accounting Intern for our headquarters in Spokane. This temporary, part-time position reports to the VP of Loan Accounting. You will perform entry-level accounting tasks, including processing fund requests, rate changes, and fee reconciliations. We provide training to support your work. The role requires 20 to 25 hours per week.
What you'll do#
- Process funding requests, receipts, and rate changes for our loan portfolio.
- Handle accounting tasks for loans that are purchased or sold.
- Manage the flow of work queue requests and group emails to assign tasks.
- Provide back-up support for general ledger entries and reconciliations.
- Assist the team with special projects.
- Communicate with other lending institutions to ensure compliance with loan documents.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a bachelor's degree program for business, economics, finance, accounting, or a related field.
- Preference for students in their Junior or Senior year.
- Strong proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Excellent time management skills and a proactive approach to deadlines.
- High attention to detail.
- Communication and analytical aptitude.
- Demonstrated teamwork skills through extracurricular activities or work experience.

- Compensation: $22.00 per hour.
