About the role#
As a Loss Prevention Intern, you will join the team at our Lake Norden facility. You will work alongside the Safety Manager and the Plant Leadership team to maintain compliance with safety rules and regulations. This role focuses on building and equipment upkeep, as well as modeling safe behavior for all staff members.
What you'll do#
- Learn how safety programs function within a dairy manufacturing environment.
- Identify workplace hazards and recommend specific improvements.
- Support activities related to LOTO, Confined Space, and Job Hazard Analysis.
- Assist with investigations into incidents and near-misses, including corrective actions.
- Review and update safety policies, procedures, and training materials.
- Gather and analyze safety data to track improvement efforts.
- Collaborate with employees and Safety Committees on various safety projects.
- Present key projects and lessons learned at the end of your internship.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an Associate, Bachelor, or Master program in Occupational, Environmental Safety and Health, Industrial Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
- A results-driven mindset with the ability to motivate yourself and others to reach goals.
- Basic mechanical knowledge of motors, pumps, agitators, gears, and drives.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook, and field-specific software.
