About the role#
Aerotech offers an internship and co-op program within our Electrical Engineering R&D department. You will gain hands-on experience by working on real-world projects alongside our motion control engineers. Your work will involve design, analysis, implementation, and testing of our motion control products. This position is paid and requires on-site work at our headquarters.
What you'll do#
- Test, debug, and evaluate prototype circuit boards and electronic assemblies.
- Use Altium Designer to modify existing circuits or design new sub-circuits.
- Implement, modify, and debug C/C++ code for microcontrollers or DSPs.
- Simulate, test, and update VHDL code for FPGAs.
- Conduct functional tests on physical motion control hardware and document your results.
- Use bench equipment like oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and multimeters to diagnose hardware and firmware issues.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a BS or MS program in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field.
- A cumulative GPA of 3.25 or above.
- Strong programming skills in C or C++.
- Foundational coursework in circuit analysis or digital logic design.
- Hands-on experience with basic electronic test instruments.
- Legal authorization to work in the United States without employer sponsorship.
