About the role#
As a Co-Op Machinist Trainee at Aerotech, you will work in a production environment to fabricate metallic and nonmetallic parts. You will gain hands-on experience by operating both manual and CNC milling machines.
What you'll do#
- Study blueprints, drawings, manuals, and sample parts to determine dimensions and setup requirements.
- Set up and operate manual milling machines.
- Program, set up, and operate NC controlled milling machines.
- Select and secure holding fixtures, cutting tools, and materials on machine tools.
- Calculate machining factors like speed, feed, and depth of cut.
- Enter commands to retrieve or edit computerized machine control media.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an approved vocational-technical school in the Greater Pittsburgh area.
- Good academic standing at your school.
- Minimum age of 16 years old.
- A valid work permit if you are under 18.
- Reliable transportation.
- Authorization to work in the US now and in the future without employer sponsorship.
