Project Controls Co-op

About the role#

Aecon Group Inc. is seeking a Project Controls Co-op for the Summer 2026 term. This full-time, on-site position offers an opportunity to gain hands-on experience within a major infrastructure project environment. You will work alongside the Project Controls team to support the modernization and modification of regional rail infrastructure.

What you'll do#

• Gain knowledge of the Project Control process, including scheduling, cost control, forecasting, and reporting.
• Support the team with daily coordination, reporting, and tracking activities.
• Assist in updating project schedules, budgets, progress trackers, and project documentation.
• Help review and organize project information from Construction, Engineering, and Procurement teams.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives, dashboards, and process automation.
• Compile earned value management reports for the team and management.
• Maintain project databases, logs, and reporting tools.
• Perform administrative and coordination tasks as assigned by the Project Controls lead.

What you'll need#

• Current enrollment in a college or university program related to Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, or Environmental Engineering, Business Administration, Construction Management, or Project Management.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.
• Strong interest in construction, infrastructure projects, and Project Controls.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with high attention to detail.
• Ability to work effectively and accurately in time-sensitive, collaborative environments.
• A positive attitude and a strong willingness to learn and take initiative.
• Previous exposure to scheduling or reporting tools is considered an asset.
