Co-op, Technical Writing

About the role#

The Technical Writing Co-op supports the development of technical proposal content across electric, energy, and telecom infrastructure projects. Working under the supervision of the Manager, Technical Writing, this role provides an opportunity to learn how construction methodologies and project execution strategies are translated into clear, client-focused proposal responses.

What you'll do#

• Support the development of technical proposal content in collaboration with Technical Writers and Proposal Coordinators.
• Draft and edit technical sections using existing content, notes, and team input.
• Format technical narratives using established templates and style guides.
• Attend meetings with operations teams to capture key points for proposal responses.
• Organize and maintain technical content libraries, including standard write-ups and reusable materials.
• Assist with updating project profiles, resumes, and supporting technical documentation.
• Perform quality checks for formatting, consistency, and completeness.
• Tailor existing content to align with specific project scopes.
• Prepare draft content packages for review by proposal leadership.

What you'll need#

• Current enrollment in a college or university program in Engineering (Mechanical, Civil, Electrical, or Environmental), Construction Management, or Communications/Technical Writing.
• Strong written communication skills with an interest in structured or technical writing.
• High attention to detail and a willingness to follow defined templates and processes.
• Basic proficiency in Microsoft Word and PowerPoint.
• Ability to take direction, ask questions, and incorporate feedback into work.
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks.

• Term: Fall 2026 (8-month work term starting in September).
• Modality: On-site.
