Co-op, Technical Writing

About the role#

Aecon Group Inc. is seeking a Technical Writing Co-op to support the development of proposal content for electric, energy, and telecom infrastructure projects. This role works directly with Technical Writers and Proposal Coordinators to translate construction methodologies and project execution strategies into clear, client-focused responses. This is a full-time, paid position.

What you'll do#

• Support the development of technical proposal content by collaborating with writers and coordinators.
• Draft and edit technical sections using project notes and input from team members.
• Format technical narratives, such as methodologies and project approaches, according to established templates and style guides.
• Take notes during operations meetings to capture key information for proposal responses.
• Maintain and organize technical content libraries, including standard write-ups and project profiles.
• Perform quality checks on documentation to ensure formatting consistency and completeness.
• Prepare draft content packages for review by proposal leadership.

What you'll need#

• Current enrollment in a college or university program in Engineering, Construction Management, Communications, Technical Writing, or a related field.
• Strong written communication skills and a specific interest in technical or structured writing.
• High attention to detail and a willingness to adhere to defined processes and templates.
• Basic proficiency in Microsoft Word and PowerPoint.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks, take direction, and incorporate feedback into written work.
• An interest in infrastructure, utilities, or construction environments is considered an asset.

• Location: Toronto, Ontario, Canada.
• Work Modality: On-site.
• Term: Fall 2026 (8-month work term starting in September 2026).
• Compensation: $20 - $25 per hour.
