Co-op, Project Coordinator

About the role#

Aecon Group Inc. is seeking a Co-op Project Coordinator for an 8-month term starting in Summer 2026. Reporting to the Project Director, this role is based in North York, ON, and involves active participation in heavy civil infrastructure projects. This is a full-time, on-site position focused on project management, resource allocation, scheduling, and cost control.

What you'll do#

• Provide management with data, project analysis, and input for month-end reconciliation.
• Track productivity, project costs, and overall progress.
• Perform quantity take-offs from construction drawings and assist in preparing detailed construction and design estimates.
• Monitor progress and assist in the provision of job cost reports.
• Assist in the coordination, preparation, and submission of as-built and design drawings.
• Maintain project files, correspondence, and gather field information for bills of materials.
• Provide technical support to field staff and liaise with clients, contractors, and internal departments.
• Assist in the review, maintenance, and approval of engineering drawings and related documents.

What you'll need#

• Current enrollment in a university or technical college diploma program in Civil Engineering, Architecture, Environmental Engineering, or Construction Management.
• Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a large team.
• Self-motivation and the ability to work well with minimal supervision.
• Previous experience in the construction industry is considered a strong asset.
• A driver's license and access to a vehicle are preferred.
