Co-op, Environment Health & Safety

About the role#

The Environment Health & Safety (EHS) Co-op student will support the EHS Shared Services team in advancing safety systems and performance initiatives across the organization. This 4-month role provides exposure to various EHS functions through hands-on experience with reporting, system maintenance, and continuous improvement projects.

What you'll do#

• Provide general support to the EHS Shared Services team across various initiatives and projects.
• Assist with the coordination, collection, and organization of EHS data and reports.
• Support the preparation of EHS dashboards, presentations, and performance summaries.
• Help track incidents, corrective actions, and other key safety metrics.
• Assist in maintaining EHS systems and tools, including data entry and basic troubleshooting.
• Coordinate and support meetings, training sessions, and other EHS-related activities.
• Maintain and organize EHS documentation, templates, and resource pages.
• Collaborate with projects, sectors, and shared services teams to support EHS reporting and system improvements.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives related to EHS processes.

What you'll need#

• Current enrollment in a post-secondary program in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Studies, Engineering, or a related field.
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, specifically Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
• Excellent attention to detail with demonstrated problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
• Well-developed organizational skills with the capacity to manage multiple tasks and priorities.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
• Interest in health, safety, and environmental performance in a construction or corporate environment.

Location & details#

• Term: Fall 2026 (4-month duration).
• Location: Toronto, ON.
• Work Modality: Hybrid, with an expectation of three days per week in the office.
• Compensation: $46,000 - $48,000 per year.
