About the role#
Aecon Group Inc. is offering Co-op Engineering Student positions within the Civil West division. These roles provide hands-on experience in heavy civil construction, focusing on project management, resource allocation, scheduling, and cost control. This is a full-time, paid, on-site opportunity for the Summer 2026 term.
What you'll do#
- Conduct site audits and analysis, providing regular reports to project staff and stakeholders.
- Assist Field Engineers and Superintendents with daily operational tasks.
- Perform quantity tracking, productivity analysis, and quantity take-offs from construction drawings.
- Monitor project progress and assist in preparing job cost reports and month-end reconciliations.
- Provide technical support to field staff, craft workers, and subcontractors.
- Assist in the preparation, review, and maintenance of engineering drawings, project documentation, and bill of materials.
- Liaise with clients, contractors, and internal departments.
- Maintain project files and correspondence.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a university or technical college program in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Construction Management.
- Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office, specifically Excel and Word.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both oral and written.
- Strong organizational and time management abilities.
- Ability to work independently and maintain a strong work ethic.
- Previous experience in the construction industry is considered a strong asset.
- A valid driver’s license with a clean abstract.
- Ability to pass a pre-employment drug and alcohol test.
